Atlanta & the Chattahoochee — Summer 2015
Summer 2015 — a birthday concert in Atlanta and a day on the Chattahoochee. In Laura’s words.
I just turned 34 (EWWWW) and enjoyed reading this. There is quite a bit of truth to some of these.
My husband picked me up in a pimped out minivan rental, spent way too much money on beer, it rained, but we had an amazing night watching a concert. I seriously think David Gray stole my dance moves.
Climbed to the top
Fun day on the Chattahoochee. Karen fell in…twice, Olivia took a nap, Evan and Stephen led the way, and I just held on. Then we hiked up to see Anna Ruby falls. Evan lost a flip flop and Stephen decided he would rather risk his life than buy another pair. We got drenched on the way down in a terrible storm but followed it all with the best cup of coffee I have ever had in my life called a “bee sting.” Now to hopefully watch the game and eat.
🌤️ Weather we had (Atlanta): Highs around 91°F, lows around 73°F, with 1 rainy/snowy day (0.6”).
🏞️ National parks & monuments

- Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area — the river we spent the day on.
- Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park & MLK Jr. National Historical Park — just outside Atlanta.
